Target Sport Activities

A very popular choice for corporate groups, private parties, hens and stags alike. At the heart of our country pursuits offering, each of these activities provides an experience-type session or team based competitive event to suit your objectives.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced shot, Grange Farm’s clay shooting ground has something to offer everyone.

Private Tuition

The only activity we offer for individuals, Grange Farm offers private tuition seven days a week subject to availability and daylight hours.

Private tuition sessions will approach each session as required. There is no time limit set as such, but a standard session is likely to last for approximately one hour and is based on 30 shots across (usually) five different targets. All necessary equipment is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own shotgun.

Group sessions

Groups of two upwards can be catered for with your party being split into smaller teams, as appropriate. Team members will receive coaching from our qualified instructors, each having a number of practice shots before attacking a range of different targets. Each team and individual will be scored according to how many targets they successfully hit, with trophies awarded to the highest scoring shots at the end of the session to inject a competitive element. All necessary equipment is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own shotgun.

We are often asked about bruising to the shoulder. Please be assured that shoulder pads are provided where appropriate, you will be matched with the appropriate equipment and our experienced coaches will look after you.

Simulated Game Shooting

A simulated game day at Grange Farm will replicate the real thing as closely as possible, from the drawing of pegs to the traditional shooting fayre. Ultimately, your day will be designed around your requirements, but typically might include 4 to 5 drives, which can be shot single or double gun to suit your number of guns. A range of targets will be provided for you with mixed pheasant and partridge drives, finishing with a duck drive over the lakes. You might also be surprised by the odd woodcock, simulated with orange flash clays.

While safety is of course paramount, we hope that you will find your time with us both enjoyable and rewarding in our relaxed and friendly environment.

Air Rifle Shooting

Based on our scenic Clay Shooting ground, team members will receive coaching from our experienced and qualified coaches. Each person will then take aim at a range of standard and humorous targets. We will score individuals according to how many targets they successfully hit and award a trophy to the person who shoots the most successfully.

Minimum party size of 15.

Archery and/or Crossbows and/or Axe Throwing

Learn the basics of these ancient arts in what better setting than the lakes and woodland at Grange Farm.

Our ancestors have used archery through the ages for hunting, war, defence, sport and recreation. Using modern re-curve longbows or crossbows, you too will soon be hitting the target under the guidance of our archery instructors.

Our Axe Throwing activity serves well as a finale to a combined target sport session or on a have a go basis during our Garden Party style events.

Minimum party size of 10.

Drive these off-road vehicles as they are intended to be driven.

Under the expert tutelage of our instructors you will learn the handling skills required to master these machines and will very soon be negotiating our hills, hollows and lakes.

Our off-road course includes features of varying degrees of difficulty, to cater for the experienced and not-so-experienced alike. Regularly used by off-road vehicle manufacturers to demonstrate their vehicles, you can be assured that there will be enough to thrill and challenge even the most accomplished driver.

Please note an age restriction of 17 applies for this activity. We do also have a minimum group size of 10 people for this activity.

Blindfold driving

Good teamwork and communication skills are enhanced by this fun, yet challenging activity.

Putting their trust in each others hands, one member of the team drives our golf buggy blindfolded, according to the directions issued from his/her co-driver. A number of simple rules apply and the pair must successfully negotiate the gates and obstacles on the course.

In order for this activity to be as inclusive as possible for all members of your team we operate with a golf buggy.

Only available as part of a multi-activity itinerary. Minimum party size of 10.

Segway Riding

These two wheeled, self-balancing electric transportation devices harness some of the most advanced technology to date and provide  great fun experience activity. Segway’s require no special skills to drive and take only minutes to master leaving you the rest of the time to enjoy this addictive experience. Riding a Segway is a unique and thrilling experience and is great as part of a team building exercise in our short obstacle course relay style format.

Minimum party size of 10.
