simulated game days
A simulated game day at Grange Farm will replicate the real thing as closely as possible, from the drawing of pegs to the traditional shooting fayre. Your day will consist of 4 to 5 drives, which can be shot single or double gun to suit your 6 – 10 guns. A range of targets will be provided for you with mixed pheasant and partridge drives, finishing with a duck drive over the lakes. You might also be surprised by the odd woodcock, simulated with orange flash clays.
While safety is of course paramount, we hope that you will find your day both enjoyable and rewarding in our relaxed and friendly environment.
On arrival, you will be served bacon sandwiches, coffee and pastries before drawing your peg number and making the short journey to the first drive. There you will be greeted by our CPSA/BASC qualified coaches who will explain the format of the day and layout of the pegs.
Traditional refreshments will be provided during the morning drives, with lunch being served in our traditional shooting lodge or newly refurbished conference suite.
Each drive will consist of approximately 200 targets (depending on the number of guns), with an option for a competitive flush at the end of the day.
For those of you who are new to the sport or are looking for some professional assistance, 1 to 1 tuition can be arranged with one of our coaches, who will explain the etiquette in the field, assist with target selection and how to suit the driven bird, and advise on safety.
